Meet Our New Members!

The Hillside Endowment

Call for Endowment Proposals

It's that time of year again, when we ask for proposals on ways to spend money from Hillside's Endowment fund.

The club's Endowment Committee will be meeting in the second half of September. The agenda will include considering local projects that the club might wish to support financially. We hope to provide funding to projects where our members are actively involved. Applications for projects to be considered are due by September 20. They should include name of the project, detailed description, dollar amount requested, and name/email/phone info of a contact person, etc. Please contact Leigh Barth with any questions at 434-907-7780 or leighbarth@hotmail.com.

Lily Show Results

by Janie Vaughan

From Janie:

I wanted to share these 2 photos from the Lily Show in Richmond in June to let our members know what goes on at flower shows!

For the Interclub, I entered the class which was a Pillar design--it had specific guidelines. The whole show had the Paris Olympics theme, so this one was about the opening ceremony's fireworks. I used Lisa Cresson's allium for fireworks, and the yellow lilies were from Bobbi Oldham's yard. This got a 2nd place, red ribbon.

Also, I did a tussy mussy which was to be given to each medal winner. That received a yellow ribbon for 3rd place in that class.

--Thanks for sharing your experiences with the club, Janie, and big congrats on the ribbons!--
